Overview
EDGAR is a powerful, complete and highly automated sales-based passenger revenue accounting system.
Fully compliant with IATA regulatory requirements, EDGAR is the result of more than ten years of constant improvements, based on the experience of airline industry professionals.
Designed with two concepts in mind, productivity and timely information, Edgar was devised to integrate various data sources and provide managers with the most accurate, detailed and relevant outputs.
Covering all fields and activities of Revenue Accounting, one of EDGAR's competitive edges is its G/L interface. It provides Corporate Management System Information for performance analysis and assists Management, Accounting, Sales and Marketing departments in decision-making.
EDGAR is innovative in terms of industry features such as tax proration and sales-based FIM processing, with a real-time proration engine and fully automated processing of code-share and block-seat agreements.
EDGAR's primary standard features
Access and authorisations
- A specific sub-application is available in EDGAR systems for the allocation of access to forms on a per-user basis.
Data capture
- Automatic integration of information with data transfers and/or interfaces (ARC, BSP and GDS files, inward invoices in IDEC format)
- Manual integration possible
- Numerous functions provide for accurate and fast data capture.
Sales data processing
- Automatic proration of documents as per industry norms (MPAs, SPAs, Provisos) ? complex fare calculations are crunched easily by the powerful prorate engine
- Handling of VAT and CP (penalty fee).
Sales audit
- Auditing of fares, commissions and taxes done in batch and according to prevailing industry rules
- Processing of unreported sales
- Automated generation and transmission of agency debit memos (ADMs) and agency credit memos (ACMs) to external source (e.g. BSP Link) through mass upload.
Flown document processing
- Advanced flight set management (based on real-time flight operation messages)
- Control on upgrades done at airport
- Bparser (SSIM and DCS interface): Passenger manifests (PRL, PFS etc) integrated into the system for automated reconciliation of uplifts

Comprehensive reporting
This is done through powerful Business Intelligence at different levels including:
- Custom reports using different levels of information (e.g. reports on sales, uplifts or invoices)
- General Ledger interface: each transaction processed in EDGAR is posted in the GL interface output
- Balances: account analysis of forward sales
- End-user reporting tools with facilities such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data mart
- Enterprise data warehouse, OLAP (on-line analytical processing)
- Data mining to Business Intelligence: forecasting, dashboards, & scorecards (EDGAR & agents' key performance indicators)

Quality Controls are done through sequences to detect anomalies (whereby anomalies are detected via specific conditions chosen by the user). Customizable control sequences give users a wide range of manoeuvres at different levels with the possibility to execute these controls ad-hoc.
- QCA : Quality Control Agent
A preventive action tool: QCA sends an e-mail alert on a daily basis to Revenue Accounting Managers and Supervisors regarding potential non-conformities
- Revenue Accounting KPI report
KPI reports are statistics dashboard on system utilisation.
Audit mode is a new concept brought to our software enabling Supervisors and Revenue Accounting Managers to protect their revenue and closely monitor sales and refund activities through a new automatic audit tool.
